Cathedral sunrooms feature sloped, glass-paned roofs and are commonly installed as four-season sunrooms. These rooms are highly energy efficient and are a very popular addition that boosts curb appeal and property value.
Conservatory sunrooms provide a classic domed appearance that makes for an elegant addition to your home. Since the walls and ceiling are all glass, conservatories maximize sunlight and give the best connection to the outdoors.
Straight or curved eave sunrooms are modern, energy efficient rooms that fit seamlessly with the existing house. These are easily used as year-round living spaces as well. If you choose an opaque roof for this design, be sure to include several skylights.
Customize your new space. We will help you design and install the perfect sunroom for your home, no matter what use you have in mind for it.
Before you design your sunroom, it's a good idea to decide what you'll be using your sunroom for, and what will be the best value for your investment. When adding on to your home, consider these options:
Shingled Roofs: If you prefer to have your sunroom roof blend in more naturally to your existing home, ask us about the shingle roofing. The other benefit of the shingle roof is the added extra layer of sound buffing, which may be a useful feature on a day with heavy rain. Please keep in mind it may not always be possible to exactly match your existing roof color.
Skylights: To add light and ventilation, Betterliving offers both vented and fixed skylights. Skylights are a lovely feature to add to your sunroom. The location and number of skylights permissible is also depending on the size of your sunroom.
Finished Ceilings: Personalize your sunroom with a detailed laminate natural wood grain look. Color choices include; Rustic Pine, Natural Cherry, Bamboo, Cherry Spice, Weathered Beadboard (Paintable), White Wash, Classic White and Painted White (Paintable). The prefinished, maintenance-free surface is also engineered to reflect more light. The laminate plank system is mold resistant and holds a superior humidity and sag resistance.
Railings: By choosing Betterliving's aluminum or aluminum and glass railing system, your railing will match your sunroom and add safety and beauty. Heavy aluminum posts that need no paint or stain. Unique design features hidden fasteners. Lovely tempered glass inserts add a touch of class - clear, tinted or frosted
Solar Shades: The most efficient way to block the heat of the sun is from the outside - before it has a chance to heat the glass windows and doors. Exterior solar shades can block the sun's heat while still providing visibility to the outside.
At Betterliving Sunrooms of New Hampshire, we recommend that you install double-paned (also called double-glazed) windows for your sunroom. Double-glazed, insulated sunroom windows will have twice the insular R-value (R-4), saving energy in your home.
Thermal breaks and insulation should also be integrated into your frame, and all glass should be Low-E coated to protect it from UV rays in the summer while also adding insulation value in the winter. To conserve energy in your home, you may also want to consider isolating your sunroom from the rest of the housing envelope. Having a sealed door into the sunroom as opposed to an open entry will help conserve energy and is essential in three-season sunrooms.
If you want to upgrade your home with a custom sunroom installation, Betterliving Sunrooms of New Hampshire are the local contractors you need! We design and install all types of custom sunrooms, and we will work with you to ensure that you get the perfect space for your needs.
